This morning started out with a good session on Aspirational Talent Acquisition presented by Jenny C. Brock of Human Resources Dimensions. Aspirational recruiting is a proactive method that steps up the process of connecting with candidates, especially the passive candidate that has been sought out by the company. This method relies on executive involvement and hiring manager awareness. It requires a knowledge of the market, the financial justifications for hiring,and the other metrics of recruitment. In particular it requires a familiarity with your candidate’s interests, family, habits and hobbies in order to connect with the “person” and not just the candidate.
The marketplace is still active. I have met some folks with some interesting solutions for small businesses, my marketplace.
